Love God, Love Others

Let’s focus on life’s ultimate question: What is our true purpose?

It’s beautifully simple:

  • Love God and love others (Matthew 22:36-40).

  • Use our gifts and talents to glorify God (1 Peter 4:10).

  • Share the Gospel (Matthew 28:19).

Without Christ, fully grasping your purpose is impossible. So much of today’s culture is self-centered, but it’s not about us. Whatever we do, we are called to do it for the Lord (Colossians 3:23-24).

The amazing truth is that God’s plan for your life is greater than anything you could imagine. When you give your life to Christ, everything changes. You are born again, and the Holy Spirit begins working in you. Your spiritual gifts come alive, and suddenly, life makes sense in a way it never did before.

Discovering Your Purpose

After years of reflection, I realized the importance of organizing my thoughts to stay grounded in my purpose. Here’s how I started the process, and how you can too:

  1. Pray in Detail – Ask God to reveal His plan for your life.

  2. Identify Your Interests – Write down the passions that have stayed with you through the years.

  3. List Your Talents – Reflect on your natural abilities or ask those close to you for insight. Don’t be afraid to experiment—your talents often surface through practice.

  4. Recognize Your Spiritual Gifts – These divine gifts from the Holy Spirit become clearer as you begin serving in your church and community (Romans 12:6, 1 Corinthians 12:12).

  5. Outline Your Dreams and Desires – Write them down and evaluate your true motivations.

These steps will guide you to make life choices aligned with God’s calling. Stay prayerful, focus on eternal things (Colossians 3:1-7), and trust in God’s promises (John 3:16).

Staying on Track

Distractions are inevitable in a noisy world, but staying grounded in your purpose is essential. Here are some practical tips:

  • Take Breaks – Sometimes you just need a pause to refocus, not a total shift in direction.

  • Limit Technology – Too much digital noise can harm your mental and emotional health. Consider a reset when needed.

  • Return to Your Purpose – Write down your talents, gifts, and dreams. These serve as reminders of your calling to glorify God, serve others, and share the Gospel.

  • Spend Time in Nature – God’s creation is the perfect environment to rejuvenate your soul.

Your Purpose Is Clear

Love God, love others, use your gifts to glorify Him, and spread the Gospel. Life can be complex, but your purpose is not. Stay grounded in faith, and embrace the incredible life God has planned for you.
