A lifelong pursuit of true health begins when body, soul, spirit, and communion with God unite.
Eric Johnson is a fitness coach, gym owner, athlete, and author who brings a holistic approach to health and wellness, emphasizing the unity of physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. Born in New Orleans and raised in Ohio, Eric’s early love for fitness and sports was inspired by his parents’ athletic backgrounds—his father a baseball player and his mother a track and field star. This foundation sparked Eric’s journey, and by age three, he was already playing sports, by nine he was training in the gym and exploring every piece of equipment he could find.
Eric’s commitment to health led him to start coaching athletes at just 14. He expanded his knowledge at the University at Buffalo, where he played college soccer and studied exercise science, psychology, and sociology. Later, coaching roles at Princeton and Campbell Universities strengthened his expertise in human performance and wellness.
While Eric’s journey began in the physical realm, it ultimately grew into something much deeper. After years of searching for greater purpose and battling spiritual challenges, he experienced a profound transformation in 2016, when he became a born-again Christian. This awakening—shortly after meeting his wife, Elisha—redefined his approach to health. He realized that true wellness must encompass the spiritual, a revelation that became central to his life and work.
With over 20 years of experience, Eric has observed the powerful interaction between body, mind, and spirit in fostering genuine health. His book, Why You Feel Good, Why You Feel Bad, weaves together insights from his journey and invites readers to explore their own path to vitality, peace, and purpose.
